I Feel A New Thing Stirring

Hello sweet friends! It's Friday night, and this homebody is enjoying a glass of wine by the fire while today's sunshine gives way to a sprinkling of sleet. Can I just say out loud that a solid week of sunshine does wonders?!?! I've been taking insane amounts of Vitamin D all winter long, but nothing beats God's natural medicine!

God has given me a lot more than sunshine to heal my heart these days. He really is doing a new thing, and I'm finally perceiving it! I'd love to share more, but the craziest thing keeps happening as I open this blog and start writing: my words just don't feel like they belong here anymore.

Oh, I'll keep writing, that's for sure. Words are like the air I breathe! And I'll hunt for beauty as long as I'm living. It feels like God's love language to me.

So what am I saying? I think a new blog is on the horizon. More beauty and more of my heart journey. I think God has even given me the name. I just didn't realize it until today!

Friends, do you know how crazy this is for me?!?! I'm not exactly the girl who embraces change and newness. Hello?!?! My business logo has been the same for a decade, and this blog has been the same for 4 1/2 years, and I've quite liked my lack of change! So when I say something new is on the horizon and I'm actually saying YES to it, you know God is up to something!

Before I go, I have to share this post by Jennifer at You Are My Girls. Reading her writing is so often like reading my own heart. I've never met her, but I'm pretty sure we're kindred spirits! So if you need a good dose of deep and real, go read Jennifer's blog. And if you want to hear words from God's heart to yours, subscribe to "Loop." I'm in awe every time I read it. {Thank you for sharing your brave and beautiful heart, Jennifer!}

Happy weekend!

P.S. So happy you liked the video of Aslan and Bella! They really are that cute every day. Makes up for all the craziness a puppy has added to my life! And THANK YOU for your kind and compassionate emails and comments. Depression and dreary weather have been hard on me this winter, but as sure as the daffodils are bursting out of the barren ground, a new thing is happening in my spirit!

  3. Yes this sunshine has been so glorious! I've gone round to visit all my early blooming plants and bulbs in my yard every few days to see if the sun has encouraged them too.

  4. I love your blog and the beauty you pour into it, I've missed your posts lately so I'm excited to have you back and looking forward to your new blog! I could not imagine living in the winters you go through I too need light and good weather or tend to find myself over thinking and become miserable. Hope the sun keeps shining where you are!!

  5. How very exciting. New seasons bring forth new life. It takes courage to change things up and you, Linsey Lewis Hasenbank, have great courage! Jesus, himself, never stayed in the same place. I just love how our sweet and loving Father has used this blog to meet a new family member :). I look forward to ALL that the Holy Spirit pours in and thru you. Blessings!!

    1. Thank you for sharing this link! She linked to a light, and YES, I've considered getting one. Just never knew which one to get and how they worked...and didn't have the energy to research. Worth a try for sure, because sunshine (or lack of it) really affects me.
