A Girl And Her Dad

My heart is happy.

I've just enjoyed four days of much needed
daddy-daughter bonding time!

It was his first visit since we moved,
and we loved every minute of it!

My girls are crazy about their Grand P!
In fact, they just came home from school, and like me,
they were sad he wasn't here to give them a big hug.

My dad and I are a lot alike,
so spending time together is easy.

We enjoyed early morning photo outings
followed by a big country breakfast...

...then came home to sit in silence and do our own thing for a few hours.
{Introverts need alone time to recharge. My dad and I get that about each other.}

Our afternoon and evening routine was slow and simple.
We took the long way home from school
{through Percy Warner Park}...

...and enjoyed fall in all its glory!

Living life to the full...and savoring the little things!

Home just in time for a glass of wine.
As my dad would say...
"Life is good."

It's hard to say which part of the day was best.
All of it, I think!

I'll be back soon with LOTS of fall beauty.
I've got more photos than you can stand!

Hugs,

  2. Oh.. looks like you had a wonderful time with your Dad ! I totally understand- Love my Dad so very
much and so blessed that he is only an hour and a half away. He and Mom come out to our farm
often and enjoy the scenery with us.
We just got back from TN. We enjoyed the area near Chapel Hill, Franklin, Bell Buckle and Leipers
    Fork.
If you get a chance and love country breakfast- you HAVE to go over to Pottsville and see Marcy Jo's
Mealhouse- darling and wonderful food ! Joey & Rory show up quite regularly when they are in town
and Marcy Jo is there most days. You will love ! Charming.. In fact I will do a post this next week
about our travels complete with photos. ( 107Vintage ) Lots of fun..

  8. Glad you had a great visit with your Dad. It sounds like you're beginning to settle in to Tennessee. I live on the "other end" of Highway 96 in Lascassas. We visit Arrington Vineyards often. It's a beautifully, relaxing place. Thanks for sharing your beautiful fall pictures!

  10. Beautiful fall shots, and I agree, there is nothing as restorative as time with a girl's daddy... no matter the age.

  11. I haven't commented in awhile, but SO glad you are back and doing well! I didn't want you to stop blogging over the "hurt", but I could understand fully where you were. I LOVE the newest family member (Buddy!)and so glad you had some good 'ole daddy-daughter time...sometimes that alone just helps, doesn't it? Your Christmas cards are gorgeous...you haven't lost your "spark"! Continuing to pray for you and your family and enjoying your blog along the way. Have a great weekend!

  12. Wow, your walk home beats all! I love what you wrote about your Dad and how you are so alike. I am an introvert too, as are my kiddos. We need lots of down time to recharge and once I learned that, I stopped feeling guilty and apologizing for it! Your days spent together sound just perfect...Craig's parents are coming soon for two weeks and I am so excited to have grandparents in the house. Can't wait to see more fall beauty!

  13. Hey sweet friend. I love the photos of you and your daddy together and the smiles on your faces. I know times with him are treasured times. Is he in Texas?

I will share with you sometime about my relationship with my dad and how seeing a girl and her daddy together makes my heart just a little sad. I must say though that I am so thankful for my heavenly Father who is the best Daddy ever. :)

Tell your girls and your sweet hubby hello from Faith and me.

  14. LOVE love all of it!
there are no words when you "get" each other.
I think I can actually say for the first time in my life
that I feel this way about God and I. I am knowing more and more that
He "gets" me. That He created me this way for a purpose...make any sense?

Love the girls..hills are alive where you are:) breathtaking...you just belong there friend....xoxo
