Until next time...
goodbye Midcoast Maine!
Thanks for 20 summers of countless memories!
The big event in Rockport Harbor: a boat launching.
This beauty had everyone gawking.
A 160-foot boat from Malta.
She's a looker!
My dad's beauty: a Hinkley power boat. Made in Maine.
Responsible for many an island adventure!
Isle au Haut: my all-time favorite island!
The girls have learned how to work the lines.
And my man always gives her a good cleaning when we return.
A visit to the fabulous children's garden
at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor.
A book barn featuring some our favorite Maine stories.
Wouldn't you love to have a book barn at home?!?!
Oh, my! The cutest little cousins ever!
Hydrangeas the size of pom poms!
And you know what? For the first time in 20 summers, I'm not too sad to leave all this beauty. Because for the first time, I'm headed home to a place equally as beautiful. From the rolling hills, stone walls and boats of Maine to the rolling hills, stone walls and horses of Franklin!
Oh, how I love beauty!

P.S. I'll be buried in boxes when I get home, so if things are quiet here for awhile, you'll know why! Hoping to share some painting updates with you soon!

Oh, beautiful Maine.. went Fall of 2010 on our Honeymoon & and planning a return very soon ! Those photos make me want to pack our bags at this very moment. Thanks for reminding us. Maine is lovely.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are a little excited to get back to your new "home" - that's a great thing. And your right, Franklin is equally beautiful.. just very different.

ReplyDeleteSeptember is a PERFECT time to go. You'll love it!
DeleteI'm swooning! Thanks for sharing the beauty today. I'm someplace beautiful, too, you're inspiring me to get out my camera.
ReplyDeleteGet that camera out and capture all you can! You have a splendid eye for beauty!
DeleteMy husband and I visit the very same places every other summer. Maine is stunningly beautiful and having shared your visit made not visiting this summer tolerable as I shared through your eyes.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe return journey to Tennessee - equally as gorgeous as that is where we vacationed this summer! :)
So sorry I missed you! Would have loved meeting you!
Deletebeautiful photos, so happy for you getting to settle into a new home!
ReplyDeleteLinsey, you are such a good photographer. Great pics of all the beauty. Great for all your family to be together.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you getting settled.
Thank you, Bonnie. I do love photography!
DeleteI LOVE seeing Maine through your eyes.
ReplyDeletePraying for you as you head HOME to Tennessee and finish all that unpacking!!
I think I remember you saying a trip to Maine might be in your homeschool plans someday. Go for it! Just imagine all you could see and learn along the way!
DeleteI visited my aunts in Maine last year...Bar Harbor area. We visited Acadia National Park, Schoodic Peninsula, and all! Loved it up there!
ReplyDeleteAcadia is a gem! My favorite island {Isle au Haut} is part of the park even though it's a good distance from the mainland park area. I'd love to spend more time in Acadia.
DeleteI love Maine! Your photos are beautiful and so is your family, Linsey. We just came back from Maine and absolutely loved it.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Loi
