One Of Those Days

My youngest has a way of expressing her moods perfectly. {No secrets about how she's feeling!} If my face were as free as hers is to say what the heart feels in the moment, this is it:

Yes, sweet girl, even mamas have those days.

Sometimes, I'm just not up for what real life has to offer. Back to school shopping, 100 degree heat, saying goodbye to summer, giving my girls away...I'm so not ready. And yet who am I to grumble?

Lord, you have one week to get this mama's heart in gear. I'm willing...just a little moody at the moment. But I know you can work with that.

Lovingly,

  1. I'm with you, Linsey! It is such a bittersweet time each year. Praying the Lord will make this final week of summer extra sweet and memorable for your family and that the transition will be smooth and even exciting!

  2. Oh Linsey, I am right there with you dear. Worried and anxious and grumpy. I just keep telling myself a few weeks from now everything will be fine and all of this will be for nothing.

  3. I hear ya! I could go there so quickly but two things...I am one week behind you and I am still fighting to live in the moment. I am battling to keep my thoughts in the present and soak up the opportunists at hand. So for us the fast flying week of fair activities and the week of school registrations and shopping to follow, I am enjoying every laugh, every teachable moment and snapping as many photos as possible. Indulge in summer this week Linsey! Indulge!

  5. I know what you are feeling. It starts to feel like the days slip away faster than you can catch them, with big school looming. I have been there and I am with you - it takes prayer to get your focus and strength. It will be good, it just takes time to get back in that mindset.

And I love how you describe your daughter. Mine is emotional, but I am so thankful that she can articulate her feelings so well. That is a gift.

Thanks for your prayers, sweet friend. I am missing Craig, it is just never the same when we are apart! I will be keeping you and the girls in my prayers as you enjoy every last bit of summer together.

  6. I'm with you 100% sister! Just posted something similar. YUCK to the end of summer and back to school.

But...knowing us, we just need a few days to get into the swing of things and we'll be good to go.

Here's to inner strength and a new school year of adventures.

  7. Thank you, sweet friends...for your prayers, encouragement, empathy...and for giving me the freedom to JUST BE...even if I was a little on the grumpy side!

Today is a better day. Back to giving thanks. And I must say...there's nothing like seeing a little girl excited about her new backpack. It put a smile on my face!

    Hugs to you all,
    Linsey

  9. we all have those days b/c we are human and we don't always need a reason why. glad it was short lived!! we have one more week of summer vacation and i plan on packing it to the brim. but also getting everyone back to going to bed on time too otherwise the first week of school is going to be painful and we'll be grumpy!! xo, Tess

  11. I am feeling much the same way...SO may things going on at once. Someday very soon I will let some of it out that being said...
Indulging sounds like a beautiful plan right alongside gratefulness. Once we get past the bts hump we will can create a new routine. Leaves me wondering what He has in store for us...and you:) your willing vulnerable heart is so refreshing. Thinking of you today
