I felt unaccomplished, incapable, overwhelmed and out of control on Wednesday {hence the grumpy spirit}. I was grasping hard...trying to attain peace by getting things done. And when they didn't get done {or couldn't be done}, I was all out of sorts.
But I knew I couldn't stay there for long. Peace feels so much better. My heart knows that peace doesn't come from my efforts, but from trusting in His. And nothing says "I trust you" like a thankful heart {the opposite of a grumpy heart}.
{Just ordered this from Gus and Lula.}
Glad that came in the mail yesterday! And then there was this comment from Robyn in response to my grumpy post. Her words felt like a wild dare for my grumpy heart:
What exactly does it mean to indulge? To take unrestrained pleasure in....I like the sound of that! So today, I'm taking unrestrained pleasure in the simplest of things...enjoying what this day holds instead of focusing on what it doesn't."Indulge in summer this week, Linsey! Indulge!"
Today's indulgences...
A new song.
Bubbles.
{And memories of Maine.}
The story of the bravest girl in the world.
{Couldn't hold back the tears as we watched the movie last night!}
And even...
...a new backpack!
What about you, sweet friends?
How are you indulging in this summer day?
Happy weekend!
