Living in the Present

{part of a "story of my life" poster I'm making}

I'm a little slow on the uptake here, but the biggest revelation I've had in my attempt to live again is that living in the present moment is required. Sounds easy in theory, but if you could listen in on my busy brain for even a few minutes, you'd see I'm constantly switching from past to present to future.

Jesus Calling (awesome devotional book) nailed me on September 30th. I'm still going back and reading it...hoping it will soak in!

{There's my John 10:10 verse again!}

Now glance back up at the top of this post. Do you notice anything going on in that image? Look what happens when you take the "P" out of "present." None of us wants that. So here's to PRESENT LIVING!

Happy weekend!

P.S. I'll be back next week with "part deux" of my Marburger Antique Show photos. After all, part of living in the present is taking in the beauty all around you. My camera helps always me do that!

  1. You can't try to make yourself perfect in the eyes of the world, you were always perfect in the eye of your maker. To that, make a joyful noise.

  2. I really appreciate your sharing your journey. It is very brave. This verse is timely for me as my mom is having brain surgery tomorrow. Trying my best to live each day for today these days. It is hard sometimes.

  3. Linsey, this post is incredible!!!!! Thank you so much. Amen, amen!!!!

  4. Oh, my Linsey. God IS in every detail. Yes, even in internet-buddies!!! This post lines up exactly with a study I am in by Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer & Kay Arthur! All on abundant living!!!! It's God's mantra to me. And now I wake up to your poster (awesome!) AND post! If it were not morning, I'd raise my glass to you and toast: "AMEN!" Instead, I'll raise my coffee cup. Love you woman!!!!

  5. P.S. May I buy that poster???? Truly. I simply must have that very thing in my study. Hopefully you'll make posters/cards-something....

  6. LOVE this!!! Thanks for sharing!

  7. Not even sure if you will see this message, but for some reason, when I came to your blog it took me to this post. Curious, isn't it? Because I read that devotion from Jesus Calling just two days ago on my own, and it had such a profound impact on me. I guess He wanted me to see it again! 2 years after you wrote this, it is touching my heart with a message God clearly is speaking to me.

    1. How cool is that?!?! Only God. So good. Thanks for sharing!
