French Finds Online

If you can't go to Provence or don't want to spend the money on the things that dealers have imported, there is hope! Thanks to the the current love affair with all things French and the many talented women who are putting their passions to work, you can find plenty of French-inspired goods online for a price that makes you smile!

As you might imagine, I love to promote small businesses. I'm especially fond of the creative businesses run by talented moms. I know first hand the challenges and rewards of loving your children to the max, keeping your marriage alive and pouring your passions into a creative business, so I'm proud to promote talented women who are doing all three of those well. And when those businesses are French-related products, you know I'm inspired!

Here are a few of my recent finds...
Love these French market baskets from Painted White. And I love what they did with them. For the fall, you could fill them with gourds and miniature pumpkins...or just go with simple bundles of wheat.

I don't know when grain sack and burlap pillows became so popular, but I do know that the "real deal" can be a budget breaker. Thanks to some fabulous entrepreneurial spirits, you don't have to pay a fortune or travel far! Take a look at these vintage-inspired reproductions:
The photo above comes from Dreams of France. Jackie was kind enough to offer all of you a 15% discount on anything in her online shop for the entire month of October. Just mention LLH Designs when you order and she'll honor the discount. Thank you, Jackie!

Dreams of France is a great resource and she'll be restocking soon, but it you'd like to know who's behind these fabulous pillows, here's the secret: Michelle at PetitCoterie. I'm going to tell you more about Petite Coterie real soon, but while you're waiting, Michelle has offered a 10% discount to anyone who mentions LLH Designs. What a treat!

And in case you're thinking this is just a random, late-night, online find, get this...I saw Petit Coterie's pillows at Marburger...AND at Beadboard Upcountry, a high end shop in downtown Brenham. Here they are!

And moving on from pillows to other household happies...
Enamel street numbers from Faded Plains. These are actually imported from France, so I bet they'll go quickly. And if you haven't noticed, numbers are a kind of "mini trend" right now, showing up on all sorts of different objects.

These lavender dryer bags come from Essencia. The owner is a super-talented friend of mine who shares my love of all things French as well as my pursuit of excellence. I especially love using them with towels and linens. Mmmm. It's like hanging your laundry out to dry in the lavender fields of Provence!

Do you have any French finds you'd like to share? Leave a comment and let me know! And stay tuned...one of these online shops is offering an item as a giveaway to one of my readers! More on how to enter the drawing next week. It involves leaving comments, so start practicing! Wink!

  1. Hi. My sister, Amy, showed me your blog bc we are interior design blog obsessed and I then I remembered your logo from my friend's Christmas card last year. I remember telling her it was the best by far. Love stationery and graphic design too. Anyways, I wish I could be in Texas to do roundtop. I'll take some lavender as well. Just did a post recently on how much I'd love to go to Provence to see the lavender fields in person. I have a friend here in Austria that went recently and she loved it! Keep up the good work. :)

  2. Thanks for your comments, Carolyn! How fun to have a reader in Austria! It sounds like you have a blog, too. If you'd like to share it for all to see, post the address...or just send me an email. I'd love to see!

  3. Wonderful and lovely provencale finds! Comme tu as de bon gout, mon amie!! Best to you always, and what a lovely blog you have! Long ago, I decided I'd order new stationary from you -- just haven't used my old yet!! Do you do holiday cards? Talk to me, ma cherie! (Michelle C)

  4. Yes..I got married and moved to Austria two weeks later in February. It's been really fun and I started a blog to keep my family updated all in one place rather than e-mailing everyone separately with pics:

  5. Michelle...mais oui! Christmas cards are my main thing. Je les adore! (I love them!)

  6. Just emailed this link to my sisters! (One's a design maven and one's a francophile!)
